Did you know? – From the National Exchange Club Website
Exchange Club’s National Project:
“The National Exchange Club’s National Project, the prevention of child abuse, was adopted in 1979 with the encouragement of National President Dr. Edward North, Jr., a physician from Jackson, Mississippi, who observed increased incidences of abuse through his medical practice.
From a handful of members in Detroit, Michigan, at the turn of the 20th century, Exchange has developed into a progressive national service organization comprised of tens of thousands of dedicated men and women serving their local communities and advancing the motto of “Unity for Service.”
Exchange is “America’s Service Club”. From the organization’s earliest days, Exchange Clubs have been selflessly serving their communities. The diverse array of Exchange-sponsored programs and projects has made a considerable impact on America, enhancing the lives of countless men, women, and children across the nation.
Exchange’s National Headquarters is located in Toledo, Ohio, where the staff’s primary objective is to help Exchange Clubs realize their full potential of community service.”

Spirit of Christmas:
Volunteers met at Walmart at 8:30 am on Sunday December 4th for a day of “Spirit of Christmas” shopping. We had 25 children this year and spent about $110 per child. We wrapped gifts and had cookies and coffee at the Springs and literally “wrapped” this event up by 11:00 a.m.
Joann Bracco, chairperson of this great event would like to thank all who helped with our Spirit of Christmas shopping trip. A special thank you to club members, family and friends, and our Excel Club and Glacier Bank volunteers. Also, thank you to Jeff Frances and Tom Daniels for their donations. A big Exchange Club thank you to Joann for all you do to organize this wonderful Exchange Club project.
Listed below are the volunteers who helped and a brief financial summary.
Exchange Club Volunteers
Noah Thatcher & his girlfriend Kara Wesen
Lauren and Berry Kippen
Lori Jager & Amanda Jager
Additional Donations: Jeff Frances $1000.00 & Tom Daniels $100.00
This year, we spent around $2,800 with Walmart providing a 10% discount. $170 was spent on diapers and donated to the United Way Diaper Drive. We had children ages 9 months to 17 years old. There were 16 kids from the Butte 4C’s and 9 from the Salvation Army. This was another great Exchange Club Event.
(Thank you to Joann Bracco for the above information)
Three new members were inducted into the Butte Exchange Club this month. Please welcome Noah Thatcher, Cory Dennehy and Shane Riley. They have already been helping with a variety of Club projects and events. We all look forward to working with you going forward. Welcome again!
