PAST EVENTS

Butte Exchange Club FunRaiser

Friday, February 24th the Butte Exchange Club hosted a Mardi Gras party at the Butte Country Club. Members and Guests were treated to a beautifully decorated ballroom courtesy of Cathy Ouellete and crew. The Mardi Gras theme inspired many attendees to dress in costume for the evening’s festivities.

The food and beverages provided by the Butte Country Club were outstanding. And the Mardi Gras atmosphere was a great way for folks to celebrate and enjoy a night of fun and fundraising for a great cause.

The Fun Raiser committee consisting of: Linda Corr-MaHugh, Marie Kagie-Shutey, Andy Durkin, Francine Cooper, Steve and Tom Daniel, Noah Thatcher, Cory Dennehy, Shane Reilly, Dick Tschetter, Penny McElroy, Joe Cote, John Keeley, Lyza Schnabel, Debbie Todd, and Doug Rotondi, met at the Quarry Brewery to get the event planned and put together. The amount of time and energy spent by the committee members was amazing! What a wonderful bunch of great people to work with (not all work because we did have some wonderful moments of levity). It was especially nice to have 5 of our newest members jump in with both feet. They all were so fantastic and have proven to be huge assets to our Club and community. I am truly grateful for Linda and all the behind the scenes work she provided to the committee!

It looks like we had about 104 club members and guests attend. As the final numbers are not available yet it looks like we will end up with about 18 to $19,000 dollars to donate to Butte’s nonprofit organizations which meet the standards of our mission.

While the party ended a bit earlier than past years everyone seems to have enjoyed the wonderful dinner, live and silent auctions. Rob McDowell was on top of his game as our auctioneer and kept the live auction moving at a good pace. The band provided some great music for everyone’s enjoyment.

I was pleased to see several non-club members returning for another year and donating generously to our Club. Many thanks to all our wonderful members who donated auction items and bought some as well.

I believe this Fun Raiser was a huge success because of a fantastic committee and the best service Club ever.

Thanks to all and congratulations to Lyza for winning the $1500.00 travel voucher!!!!
More information to come in the March Edition of the Bulletin.
